Keller needs holistic approach with systematic development: Irfan Manhas
Shopian, June 13: The ongoing public outreach programme by DDC members of Apni Party lead by DDC Vice Chairman and Apni Party Youth Leader Irfan Manhas is being appreciated by one and all on ground in the District. “These DDC members are connecting with people at grass root level which is the essence of Panchayti Raj system and we are thankful to them for addressing our day to day issues”, said one of the locals.
As a part of public outreach initiative, DDC Vice Chairman Irfan Manhas along with Apni Party Block President for Keller and DDC Keller I Chowdhary Fazal Din in a day long tour visited far flung areas and several villages of Keller including Gulab Taing, Cheki Keller, Chowan, Batfujin, Ringward etc. They interacted with locals and also met various delegations including tribal representatives.
During the visit, they did spot inspection of development works including ongoing macamadization of Keller-Chowan Road and Gulab Taing-Cheki Keller Road. The youth of Gulab Taing appealed for development of their playground on similar lines like other areas in the district.
While visiting batfajun, locals demanded construction of bridge which is a long pending demand and also shared their problems related to water and road. We are facing extreme hardships due to dilapidated road conditions making it harsher in winter season, said locals.
DDC Vice Chairman and DDC Keller (I) also paid a surprise visit to SDH Keller and took feedback from locals, patient’s and staff. Manhas discussed various improvement points with Block Medical Officer who assured that best services would be provided to the visiting patients. The official’s at SDH requested for an automatic analyser, laprascope and installation of oxygen plant at the appropriate place near the hospital. Manhas and Chowdhary Fazal Din assured their full support to the hospital administration.
Keller is a hilly tehsil located at a distance of 15 Km from District HQ Shopian. It is bestowed with beautiful surroundings and have full potential to become a popular tourist destination.
